JR Willis's completed Cobra bi-plane with its opposed gull wings is stunningly beautiful and unusual. This RC Race plane design was the 2004 season USRA Champion
The Cobra project was a father-son cooperative effort with John Willis Sr. doing the airframe construction and John Willis Jr. (JR) doing fiberglass (airframe, cowl and wheel pants) and the final paint. JR the added the radio, electronics, engine, fuel tanks and transmitter program. JR then gets the final reward of flying it.
JR put together a PowerPoint presentation that can be viewed by clicking here. You will need PowerPoint (or the Player available from Microsoft) on your computer to view the presentation which can be downloaded or "open"ed and run directly from the web (after a loading delay). The presentation runs without clicking the mouse between slides but, depending on your version of PowerPoint or viewer, may require telling PowerPoint to start a slideshow.
More information and photos may be viewed on JR's website and a short picture story follows on the next page.
